you can put the lint of your dryer and your hair in compost! at least, that's what they say in my city's guide to compost, and that's what I do...even put my nail clippings in it!

actually, there is a use for the hair in your brush. if you take a ball of it outside and put it in a tree (or even in a field, etc.) birds will swoop down, pick it up, and line nests with it. we had a great golden lab for 16 years and i used to comb his hair and let it blow away. he's been gone 3 years now and i still find a next lined with his fur once in a while!

I guess I'm an eco-dude, because i definitely get pissed off by all the cigarette butts everywhere. Since when did tossing a butt become NOT littering? And i do take home cans sometimes from my office because i'm not convinced the building recyles it, even though NYC law requires them to.

Sounds awfully familiar - might I add: turning off coworker's lights at the end of the day, paying slightly more to buy locally grown veggies, giving out energy efficiency suggestion lists to your friends, and walking/biking (even when you're soooo tired) instead of driving?

I must admit, with my allergies, I have never considered keeping the lint from my vacuum. That being said, I concur with the rest! Hey, if you are one of the people dragging recyclables home, why not try to convert the workplace to recycling!
