Departure to a New Utopia

by Danelle Brown · 10/17/06

LeonardoLeonardo DiCaprio is departing from his role in front of the camera and once again focusing his attention towards the environment. Where as Sir Thomas More brought us Utopia, DiCaprio is helping to bring to us E-topia . This new reality TV series is pretty much summed up by this quote below from one of the show’s executive producer’s:

“We’re going to take a devastated community and help transform it as a prototype for the future,” At the end of the day, we’re all going to have to change the way we live, the way we burn and use fuel … We’re trying to show the country and the world by example, town by town by town, how we can change the way we live and fight global warming.”
- Craig Piligian (CBS’ “Survivor”)

The show will continue the new industry trend of incorporating the power of the internet to extend the show’s environmental initiatives. Today’s NYT article did not specify the airing of the show. The production team is still shopping around for a network. Any network workers reading this should push for their company to bid on this show.
