EarthE's are Eco Oscars To Honor Friends For Helping The Planet

EarthE money, EarthE kisses, EarthE discounts and EarthE handshakes: these are some of fun eco rewards that people and businesses are using to honor others for taking eco actions to protect our planet, according to EarthE.org. (EarthE is pronounced earthy.)

For example, participating businesses are giving an EarthE credit/discount in exchange for EarthE money that customers bring in. Customers will have received the EarthE money from friends or others for having taken an environmental action. EarthE money can be printed for free at EarthE.org, or cut-out of some publications.

EarthE volunteers are hoping to get 90% of the retail businesses to give people an EarthE credit by EarthDay 2008. Businesses that are giving an EarthE credit/ discount in exchange for signed EarthE Money are being listed at EarthE.org.

The credit(s) offered by these businesses may be a sales discount, a gift, the EarthE handshake and/or any of the other unique EarthE rewards that can be used to acknowledge others for their eco actions. Individuals are being invited to use the EarthE money, handshakes, kisses and other artsy ideas to thank friends and others for being nice to our planet home. Those who want to team up with local EarthE volunteers are asked to contact Stele Ely at info@earthe.org.

To give the "EarthE kiss" to a friend for helping the planet, draw a big circle in the air with your arms and hands to symbolize our planet. Then give that deserving eco friend a kiss -- or blow them a kiss -- through the middle of the circle. (Yes, eco sweet rules.)

EarthE.org and its *eco citizens* are not happy with a society that panders to those who destroy our planet -- and overlooks those that choose to protect it. That's why the EarthE mission is to create ways for anyone or any business to honor ecological actions and choices.

For more info on how people -- and businesses -- are rewarding others for their environmental actions, check out EarthE.org or call 303.554.9599.

Another Kind of Green Oscar!
Oceana awarded another kind of Green Oscar to Masters of Making Mercury in our Environment - yes, MOMMIEs. Mercury poses its greatest risk to children and often even before they are born. That's why Oceana has recognized major mercury emitters - chlorine factories that continue to use mercury polluting technology even though 90% of the industry has already switched to mercury free technology. The award - a life-sized gold statue of a pregnant mommie - is definitely worth checking out

shuttle buses??? LOL... i can just picture it from here, all these green celebs getting buses in... what a riot... nah... what i was thinking about, already way back in the mid-70's... when i was crazy enough to dream about electric cars... like in science fiction movies... we did get the cel-phone like in star trek, so i wonder, why not the whole enterprize to go with it... hmm... what i was thinking were "yellow" limos... like bit taxi cabs... that could shuttle a whole lot of people at once... parties inside you know... never know who you're gonna meet... like huge giant bugs crawling on the ground, swallowing folks, spitting them out... could get rid of a lot of cars that way if we brought hitch-hiking back... but i'm dreaming aren't i? we're going to ELLE in a hand basket... sigh...
