Eco Chick is really happy to be a part of Shape Magazine’s April, 2007 Green-theme issue. Check out page 44, where Summer, Kim and I are featured in the section ‘Why I Went Green,’ a three-page spread that includes the likes of Amber Valetta, Laurie David, Daryl Hannah, Kerry Washington, Amy Brenneman, and other women describing what spurred them to put the environment front and center in their lifestyles. Thank you Shape!

The rest of the mag is worth picking up; while not every article has a green focus, there are a few major pieces (It is easy being green; an a-z primer guide, a pretty piece on organic bath and beauty products) and quite a few smaller pieces (one on organic wine, a green outdoor gear round-up, and some cute Spring fashion essentials). Being Shape, there’s also lots of great workout tips and healthy-eating plans.

Starre Vartan is the founder and editor-in-chief of Eco-Chick and author of The Eco-Chick Guide to Life (St. Martin's Press). A problogger and oft-quoted green living expert who has been featured in the NYTimes, Elle, Glamour and Whole Living, she is a contributor to The Huffington Post, Inhabitat, and Hearst's The Daily Green, and is currently editor-at-large for Coco Eco Magazine. An active ecofashionista, she has style edited for Plenty magazine and coordinated runway shows. She splits her time between Connecticut and NYC and calls Sydney, Australia her second home, even though it was her first (as that's where she was born and most of her family resides). When not writing, blogging, or researching her next book, she is trailrunning, trying to cook, or snowboarding.
