Not sure what to do with those dead batteries sitting in the drawer? Do you have some old paint sitting in the garage waiting to be properly disposed of? Earth 911 is an excellent site that will help you find local recycling centers. There is also information on composting, conserving energy, and how to teach children to embrace personal responsibility.

I had forgotten the name of this org….thanks for the reminder. Even though I use rechargables, I still have a baggie full of batteries, some are mine, some I pick up when I see them rollin’ around because I know otherwise they will end up somewhere they don’t belong!
October 7th, 2007 at 7:05 pmYeah, batteries are nasty. I have rechargables too - which are so much better to use. There is at least one drawer in our house of things, such as old batteries, that need to be dumped. This site is a great help!
