Green Festival, The World’s Largest Environmental Expo and a joint project of Global Exchange & Co-op America is coming to San Francisco this weekend (Nov 9,10, 11) Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Concourse Exhibition Center. Tickets are on sale here.
At the Green Festivals, we’re celebrating what’s working in our communities, for people, for businesses and for the environment. Here, green means safe, healthy communities and strong, local economies. Green is the color of hope, of social and economic justice, of ecological balance.
Join us for these huge parties with a purpose. You’ll enjoy more than 200 visionary speakers and 400 green businesses in each city, great how-to workshops, green films, yoga and movement classes, green careers sessions, organic beer and wine, delicious organic cuisine and live music.
If you’re in SF this weekend, make sure to check it out! On Friday evening at 7 pm the Fest starts out with a special event, “The Environment as Our Extended Body” led by Deepak Chopra.

I’ll be there
Bag Monsters to Invade Green Festival! Despite San Francisco’s recent bag ban, plastic bags are still a nuisance. When enough single use bags get together they can take on a life of their own as Bag Monsters. Intelligence from the Bag Monster Busters indicates the creatures will wreak havoc at this weekend’s Green Festival. Inside your home, Bag Monsters may be lurking in a closet, drawer, or under your sink. Do not feed Bag Monsters, you will only provoke their appetite for more single-use plastic grocery bags, marine animals and landfill space! For more info on Bag Monsters, go to http://www.bagmonster.com
I’ll be there too! It’s a great place to do all your holiday shopping!
Cheers,
Lorna
I wanted to share some footage I took of the festival. It is available at lateforlife.com
I’m not so bad, you know… I’m a family monster with millions of little bag monster spawn to worry about. Some of them live under kitchen sinks, but most of them live in the bay and ocean. We love the water and it’s one of the main reasons we moved to San Francisco 40 years ago. That, and the fact that San Francisco was such a tolerant place where the Bag Monster Family could live free of oppression… at least that was the case until the “tolerant liberals” on the city council decided to kick us all out of town because we make an expensive mess and because a few of us were eaten by marine animals… Don’t they know better than to eat bag monsters? Well, I guess not. We disagree with the council, but we know when we’re not welcome… We’re going to have a going away party on Tuesday, November 20th from 6-9 at 111 Minna Gallery (at 2nd Street between Market and Mission). Goodbye San Francisco! The Bag Monster Family will miss you!
