I love that other people do this too. It feels so good to fix stuff. I am a big thrift store shopper and I always keep in mind what I can fix when I shop.

FYI: I love long dangling earrings, especially those made by Native Americans. The first time I broke one, I couldn't bear to not use them and it occurred to me to put a braid in part of my hair & hang the good earring from in the hair tie. Although I was then an older lady attending college, that became a rapidly incresing fad. Since, then I've found way to attach a broken one to a braid, while also wearing the good one in an ear....Like I'll have the braid on the left side with its' "dangle" & the earring in my right ear. It makes a neat looking balanced style~~~

I'm a big fan of fixing stuff.....I take my better jewelry (stuff my grandma left me) to a good jewelry store for repair all the time. I've had two bracelets, three pair of earrings, and a freshwater pearl necklace (restrung) fixed over the last five years. Old jewelry is prettier than new stuff anyway!

This shows how simple reuse and repair really can be! The author only had to go a few blocks and ask a family member for a few moments, and she ended up with a nice pair of earrings, a story, and a clean eco conscience!
