I’ve been a Madonna fan since I was 8 years old. Hers was the first tape I ever popped into my Sony walkman, and just last night I attended a fashion show where they were pumping one of her newer tunes. As big of a Madonna fan as I am, I have to say I’m pretty surprised to see her on the cover of VF’s third annual green issue (Ecorazzi broke the story last night), especially considering she doesn’t seem to be behaving as a friend to the environment with her anti-public transportation stance. I can’t wait to read the story when it comes out and see what Madge is up to! Maybe some awesome recycled hemp and peace silk cone bras?

Remember when a few years ago, when Madonna wrapped herself up in an American flag, flanked by two hunks, to promote Rock The Vote… Turned out she wasn’t even a registered voter, and never cast her own vote in the election! But we still love her… Don’t we! ;o)
March 28th, 2008 at 12:56 pmI won’t even TRY to be objective about Madonna. I love her beyond all logical reason. She if just such an amazing woman who has always inspired me to go after what I want (gush, gush). I’m very curious to read what she is up to- wouldn’t it be sweet if she made an album dedicated to environmental issues that was really danceable and went down in history as the classic soundtrack for Mother Earth?
March 29th, 2008 at 8:53 amMadonna gives anti-eco people an excuse to brand us as hypocrites. The truth is she has an astounding chutzpah to tell people to get real about global warming. It almost defines hypocrisy. Consider her inventory of cars: A Maybach - about the most vulgar vehicle ever made - gets 11 mpg and has a herd of cows as upholstery, two Range Rovers - also about 11 mpg and a herd of cows between them spread out on the seats - an Audi A8 - about 12 mpg and then of course her eco-friendly Mini Cooper - which probably fits in the trunk of the Maybach. Plus she travels around in a private jet with a posse of sycophants. Nobody’s perfect, but I think she could try harder than that. Thanks, but I’d prefer not having her as the face of the new green movement.
