with sooooooo many unregulated chems in cosmetics, and no requirement for labelling, make up is one of the most dangerous products in your home. learn more about natural cosmetics ASAP

I love straightening my hair- but for both it's health and to avoid the elecromagnetic waves I only do it every other time I wash it (and I only wash once a week since my hair isn't oily at all, even in the summer). In the summer it's too hot to stand under a blowdryer for 15 minutes so I tend to be curly most of the warm, humid season (my natural hair texture). I think it's fun to go back and forth- curly one day, straight the next.

Hairdryers are also emitting electromagnetic fields that have been indicted by some scientists along with microwaves. When I was studying microwaves, many scientists I interviewed were more concerned with cellular phones and hairdryers - another good reason to turn it off!
Coconut and Shea are such great options! Thanks for the reminder.
I have wondered about Kiss my Face and Jason. I have questioned Alba sometimes too, regarding how 'natural' they are. I used to like Giovanni and was disappointed to find they were showing high traces of dioxane in some of their products. The Organic Consumers Association just released their study on 1,4 dioxane http://www.organicconsumers.org/bodycare/index.cfm and these brands were some of those that were featured. It is hard to find natural brands that really minimize their use of fragrance, preservatives, and other harmful chemicals.
