Top 6 Hottest Ecofabulous Swimsuits

I know, I know, when it comes to discussion of ecofriendly swimsuits, going au naturale, AKA skinny dipping has the lowest environmental impact (except if you scare the fish with your exposed ladybits, ha ha) since there’s no bathing costume to manufacture, ship and package.

But since most public beaches, at least here in the States, don’t allow even partial nudity, you will have to wear SOMEthing to take a dip in. And now there are plenty of greener choices for swimwear; these six are seriously hot and due to their sustainable materials and carbon conscious packaging and/or made in the USAness, they won’t contribute to global warming!

For the Sexy Girl Next Door
Tropi-Ties hemp and cotton swimsuit has a bust-flattering halter neckline and sweet bamboo rings holding the bottom’s sides together. Awesomely, you can order different sized tops and bottoms, so you can mix-and-match if you’re small on top and big on the bottom or vice versa.
$110 from the Tropi-Ties website.

Rogan for Target monokini

For the Eco Princess/Celebutante Wannabe
Really, what more could you want? (uh, besides more fabric) Rogan for Target’s “monokini” looks like a bikini in the back, but is more likely to stay put whilst jumping about in the waves, comes in a blue and white leopard print, and is designed by CFDA winner Rogan Gregory (the mastermind behind Loomstate and EDUN). Oh, and it’s made from “low-impact” synthetics (not totally sure what that means).

Luna Bikini by MeadowBeach Flower Bikini by Meadow

For the Cool Girl Who Turns Out to Be Hot Underneath

Beach Flower is $92.00 at BTC Elements

For the Hottie Hipster

Mociun’s suit is organic cotton and perfect for the ironic chickie who avoids the sun (to keep that downtown pallor) but still likes to play dead man’s float in the deepest part of the lake. Designed in Brooklyn for the ultimate hipster cred.
$145 at Beklina

For the Simply Sexy Sheila
A basic black tank by Kelly B. with a seductively sweet keyhole neckline; this 90% organic cotton tank would work great poolside and even better under skinny jeans or a skirt for a post-beach bash.
$150 at Coco’s Shoppe
