Laurie David and Cambria Gordon recently received the 2007 Green Earth Book Award in nonfiction for their children’s book The Down-To-Earth Guide to Global Warming. The award was given by the Newton Marasco Foundation, an organization that works to promote sustainability within the public and private sector.

This book is fun, engaging and chock full of interesting information. My kids are at the stage where they simply want to rip the pages out and eat them, but I really enjoyed reading this book and look forward to sharing it with kids. With lots of photographs and illustrations, the guide provides easy-to-digest examples of what is going on with global warming, as well as offering practical everyday solutions that children can implement within their communities.

This would be a great gift for any child who loves animals, oceans, trees, grass, carrots, apples, or riding their bike! That includes most kids, I hope!
