I love these highchair styles. I've never seen anything so unique. This is something I will search for my baby registry.

I will endorse the Tripp Trapp chair for ever and ever. Wonderful product. It is simple and gets the job done, fantastic. After my two boys had passed their Tripp Trapp on to their litte sister, I got them both a kneeling chair ( I later found that it was designed by the same person as Tripp Trapp). The Variable from Varier is a great chair for their homework time after school, and I use it during the day in my home office. It is great to find such a simplistic design that encourages proper sitting and ergonomic support. I just recently saw that the CEO of Stokke (manufacturer if Tripp Trapp) feels the same way about the Variable by Varier. Its really something to look into if being green and healthy is a priority. http://newdesignsforcomfort.com/testimonials.html -- comment by Stokke CEO...

Thanks!

Hi Kim,

I enjoyed your Stokke post...we are from Norway also.
www.aksel.no

in US www.akselchair.com

Please take a look at this product. We would love you to consider writing about it as it is newly introduced to the US market.

It is a wonderful chair, made since 1930 by hand. The factory is owned by my mother. The seats are handwoven with seagrass, recycled paper. The trees for the wood are hand selected for Aksel by men in forest.

It is very eco friendly. We are looking for help to spread the word to US market.
(forgive my english!)

Sincerely,
Katrine

Kim,
I love that Eco-Chick posts product reviews for baby stuff. My wife and I ran into a snag with acquiring items that fall outside of the big brands, though: The baby registry. I'll pass along a solution to other readers that unfortunately came to us late in the game. If you want to "register" for hip, green baby stuff that's not widely distributed (Maya Wrap slings, Bum Genius diapers, that cool Svan high chair, &c), create a DIY registry using a blog site. This is also a great way to get feedback from friends and family on what works and what doesn't, and (of course) to further bore loved ones with 37 more sonogram pictures.

Love both the Svan and the Tripp Trapp. Such beautiful chairs. Those are definitely heirlooms. I think the HandySitt is a great option for grandparents who don't want a massive high chair taking up their kitchen.
