Be EcoChic Event Kicks Off New York Fashion Week 2008!

by Starre Vartan · 09/07/08

I had the honor of attending the very fabulous Be EcoChic event last Thursday night, the start of the New York Fashion week MADness, and I had a blast. How could I not? The American Museum of Natural History, one of my top five fave places in NYC, lent a fantastic backdrop to the star-studded ecofashion show and party.

The event was HUGE! with hundreds filling up the space beneath the iconic blue whale that hangs over one of the main rooms in the AMNH- which I have to say was the PERFECT place to put a runway. There’s no ignoring that whale, and the connection between the aims of the folks behind the event, and the environment, were as bold and impossible to ignore as the cetacean above our heads.
