I am so honored to have been invited to take part in Glamour Magazine’s 70th Anniversary issue, out this month (look for Katie Holmes on the cover of the April issue). To celebrate, they brought together 70 of the most influential women in green, including me! Standing next to me are Jill Fehrenbacher, design blogger extraordinaire (Inhabitat and Inhabitots), and Laurie David (Larry David’s wife, and more importantly, founder of Stopglobalwarming.org). I also got to chat with Christie Brinkley, Alicia Silverstone and Summer Rayne Oakes who were featured too.

We had our picture taken as a group in Central Park and it’s featured over a three-page spread (along with a great article about how far we have come in terms of environmental awareness, and how important women have been in that area.)

Thanks Glamour, for recognizing all these great green women! Check out Ecorazzi’s coverage here, with behind the scenes photos!

Congratulations on your recognition in Glamour but more importantly on helping to influence others in our efforts to preserve our planet. My wife and I are now doing the same by sharing a new line of Green household cleaning products. They are very effective enzyme based, ph neutral, non-toxic, non-caustic cleaners for your entire home, carpet and upholstery included. Please let us share this with you so you can pass it on to others. Thanks, Stu

Awareness is the answer. When speaking with so many people, they are just overwhelmed as to where to start. Being aware that every decision we make causes a ripple effect, and making small changes in our lives will make a big difference.

Congratulations, Starre–and to the other 69 women recognized by Glamour! From the unsung local heros we don’t always hear about, to this group of phenomenal women in green, thank you for creating awareness and helping to create change and spur action for today–and tomorrow. (Kudos, too, for your Green Web Award!)

MANY, MANY congrats Starre! How great for you to be honored like that! I really wished they would have featured the article on the cover. Not even a mention for such a fabulous occasion…what’s up with that?!? Love Katie and all, but how about showing some love to 70 gorgeous green ladies :)

I also just found out that you can get a Glamour subscription until 3/15 for just $1.50/year which I promptly signed up for tonight since its less than one issue! (I don’t work for Glamour…I just love a deal and had to share ;) ).

Christie Brinkley front and far right, who everyone in the anti-nuclear community recognizes for her work as a spokesperson for the Tooth Fairy project, standing in Central Park, reminds everyone up the river is one of the worse causes of soft tissue cancer.

This great photo should have been a three page fold out, just like the one next to it for Paul Mitchell advert.

I wonder, how did everyone pick where they were going to stand, and next to whom? Did Glamour position everyone? Or did everyone just find their own place to stand in the shot?
