Sure it's cheap, but how is it safer than a bike if it has NO AIRBAGS?
Seems like a metal death trap to me.

This is not a green car and so the more cars they sell, the more pollution they create. They should design a 2-seater electric scooter instead. This will save money on the car body.

It's certainly easy for us to point fingers at other "3rd world" countries and tell them their doing it all wrong. The fact of the matter is - we have no right to tell them what's best for their country. The only thing we can do is focus on our own.

Italy has been driving these tiny cars through their tiny streets for generations... they are a lot safer than bikes, no doubt... but they also use up a lot more gas. The Citroen 2 Chevaux was just a frame over a motorcycle engine. Cheap, practical, problem free... But no protection in high speed collision.

More people, more vehicles, so because the public transportation of trams was ripped out to favor buses, and privately owned cars, we're choking from a billion exhaust pipes.

The main problem is the fuel, in a society controlled by oil interests which is in no real hurry to find great alternatives. Anything that has come down the pike threatening oil's dominance has been paid lip service to, not much more... until now!

It took melting ice caps and hundreds of tankers spilling their guts out on fancy beaches to wake up humanity, now putting pressures on the old guard to do away with the slimmy stuff.

It all has to do with combustion, the greatest bang for the buck, and gasoline packs a punch, but not something that can't be duplicated with other, much cleaner chemical reactions.

Replacing spark plugs with lasers for starters would boost fuel efficiency, because you'd be igniting fuel mixtures with light instead of electricity, maximizing combustion. This has been known for thirty years, and yet, the automobile industry has done nothing to introduce such innovative changes in their drive trains... until the Prius came along.

The Prius was a Trojan horse which re-introduced electric motors and batteries into the automobile industry, heralding the birth of an affluent green culture and economy. Now the Tesla proves that on a mass production scale, electric cars not only have a future, they're faster, better, more fun to drive than pistons.

But until electric vehicles reach a competitive price point for range and performance, laser ignition of ethanol could right now be installed as an after market option in all gasoline engines! No more spark plugs...

It is absolutely unsafe to drive a two-wheeler in Indian cities. You can get yourself killed, due to a combination of abscence of street lights, dug-up roads, rash drivers, un-accountable buses and trucks. It is literally a nightmare to be driving a two-wheeler in India. Tata Nano is 1000 times better. If they had introduced it earlier, more lives would have been saved, people who lost their lives for no fault of their own resulting in irreparable and great loss to their families and the nation. I just hope Tata doesn't muck this up like original Indica launch.
