Best Scrub for Dry Skin Ever! Sia Desert Aloe and Jojoba Exfoliates Without Drying: Eco-Chick Tested

I love the idea of scrubbing my face; it just seems like such a great idea to get all the extra bits and goops off! (Especially in the summer when the goops are in high proportion.) But alas, whenever I use a scrub of any sort, I end up with tight, itchy face, a classic sign that one has overcleansed (this is not good for your skin as it gets all unbalanced; skin, like your temperamental cat, likes consistency). Yup, I have dry skin, and heretofore, any scrub I have used has made it feel even drier.

So I was torn between wanting to exfoliate, and being unable to. And sometimes just going to town and then having to rub coconut oil on my face to make up for the over-drying.

Enter Sia Botanics Desert Aloe & Jojoba scrub. It’s amazing! Seriously, I can scrub away and not only does it feel like it’s really getting the job done, the beads are made of jojoba (not water-polluting plastic like many conventional scrubs). It is all held in this cooling, gel-like material, which feels especially lovely during the summer.

  1. Hi Starre! Since your skin gets dry from exfoliating, have you ever tried Tata Harper’s Regenerating Cleanser? It is a lovely beaded scrub that doesn’t strip the skin at all, but rather uses natural enzymes that exfoliate the skin. The grapefruit scent makes me happy, it’s just so delicious. It’s quite a decadent product. It doesn’t have any “questionable” ingredients either. Thanks for the info. I enjoy reading your posts!

  2. Thanks so much for this blog post, I was looking for a product that did exactly this! Really looking forward to trying it out 🙂

  3. I totally need to try this scrub.!I love that the beads are made from all-natural jojoba, another amazing botanical from the desert. I saw it on so next time I order from them this is definitely going in my cart.

  4. Sarita – no, I didn’t know Tata made a dry-skin scrub, but I would be that would be awesome. I will add it to my list….

  5. I have been wanting to try a scrub from Sia for a while, now! I think this will be a great one because the weather in Tucson is getting so dry right now and it’s making my face dry with flaky spots that you can see when I put on my foundation. I also wanted to check out the Deep Hydration Night Cream. Have you tried that one or any of the other moisturizers?
