(Last Minute) Eco-Chick Holiday Gift Guide: Subscription Boxes for All!

SINCE 1991

If you have waited until the last minute to buy your Christmas gifts, you are still totally in luck—with the rise of subscription boxes, you can get something for the foodie, yogini, wine lover or natural beauty fan with no fuss, no muss.

All the products below are fair-trade, ethical, locally made, eco-friendly, low-impact, or (most likely) some combination of the previous.

And if you are still looking for that perfect (ethical) thing for that special someone, our recent list of 8 great ethical boutiques is a great place to start—and so is our Resources page.

And our gift guides for ethical yoga wear, natural scents and perfumes, the neohippie homebody, and the lover of all things wood.

Have a wonderful holiday!

Best Subscription Boxes (for Anyone!)

Subscriptions are the best way to give a gift that keeps giving (even if the giftee is yourself!). It’s such a sweet surprise to get something new each month or season. Each of the ones below gets our seal of approval and has been tested by the Eco-Chick team!

marys-secret-ingredients

Mary’s Secret Ingredients come once a season (and they are tuned to the season you are in—I tried the Fall box and it was a sweet end-of-summer sendoff theme). This is a beautifully curated, really delightful box whether you are a foodie or an aspiring one. And it’s not just tasty treats—the box is set up to encourage the home cook, so my box came with the “world’s most accurate” measuring spoons set (there were like 15 different sizes!) and a beautiful sea salt and herb mix to sprinkle over everything from eggs to buttered toast or use as a base for salad dressing.

Love Goodly includes 5-7 full-size products in each of its cheerful, cruelty-free and healthy-minded boxes. A full-to-the-brim box comes every other month, packed with snacks, beauty products and eco-style accessories. AND each box supports a cause, which means the gift you give will keep on giving beyond your giftee.

Pumeli Stress Relief Gifts

The Pumeli Art of Relaxation box is seasonal, mindful, and incredibly luxurious. Designed specifically to slow you down and let you focus on unplugging, I was so lucky to try the elephant-themed “Sense of Touch” box, which was absolutely packed with loveliness. A beautiful grey flannel notebook with handmade paper, an ele stamp made out of hand-carved wood, a sweet tea-towel, high-quality rooibus tea, and tea filters. Another box has a coloring book theme, with the idea that you pour yourself a cup of tea, and enjoy something mindful and relaxing—and this box will help you do it.

buddhibox

Buddhibox is for the yogini (new or advanced) in your life. Each month, the box comes absolutely packed with cruelty-free awesomeness, including jewelry, accessories, bath and beauty products, and tasty (healthy!) treats. I love all the delicious-smelling (and all-natural!) sprays from the likes of Stinky Yogi, as well as the sweet, hand-drawn “Pose of the month” cards that I’ve collected and put on my fridge for inspiration.

Goodebox-Dec

Goodbeing (formerly Goodebox) is perfect for that friend who love to try new products—but all the ones in this box are cruelty-free, healthy, nontoxic and from companies that care about health and the environment. I’ve been receiving Goodbeing’s box for many months, and the offerings are always varied, useful (and smell amazing!).

clubw

Club W is a personalized wine subscription service. Which means that they send you three bottles a month (that’s the subscription part) based on a simple 6-question survey you take so they can best understand your palate (that’s the personalized part). It works!! I was sent the three bottles above (2 red and 1 white, since I requested both reds and whites) and was delighted with each one.
