There seems to be a new angle to the term “British Invasion”. While although the UK is still giving us amazing music such as Coldplay and Aqualung (Who just so happens to be playing at the Bowery Ballroom on May 1st), The Brits are just cranking out amazing green product lines and on-line eco-stores. The latest…. Well, let me introduce you to By Nature. While they have been around for a little while, these eco-lifestyle guru’s concerns about the startling statistics for the UK’s landfills have been manifested into what appears to be a unique and modern eco-friendly home accessories collection.
The most interesting is a photo album made of 80% elephant dung and 20% recycled paper. Now you may have a startled look on your face but actually elephant dung has been used by several environmentalists. Take for instance The Rosamond Gifford Zoo located in Syracuse, New York. They will be the first in the nation to be powered by its own animal waste.

If you still can’t get pass the elephant dung, how about these really awesome decorative pillows made from recycled seat belts or modern lamp shade called the “Spiro” lampshade made from 100% recycled cardboard. This company even has 100% recycled wine glasses. You could throw your own little swank green party at home with your new Vino Wine glasses and sustainable Sushi board while wearing an “Eco Woman” Tee made with organic cotton and azo-free dyes.

I live my life on the turn of a dime. Honestly, I do. Most of the time I decide what to do that day, that day. The spice of life for me is spontaneity. I live it all the time. I don’t think we, as a society, do enough of it. Like the time when I said “Hi” to a guy in June, exchanged some hand-written letters, texted a few times, and then a few months later, decided to run off to Hawaii together. Random? Yes. Crazy? Only to uptight prudes. Unsafe? Beautiful desserted tropical island? Mmmm, no red flags there.
So what better way to feel reborn again, to rekindle that flame of dreamy spontaneity then by MuuMuu Heaven…A company located in the dreamy, romantic Hawaiian Islands that gives new life to muumuus, vintage wear, and accessories.
Want to find out how to get 10% off your order? Sign up for my Mailing List newsletter, and I’ll give you the code. Go ahead. Be spontaneous. And if you are looking for flights, hit up Travelocity.com, but make sure you purchase your carbon transfers.

A Barrage of Accessories from the Frontlines of Fashion
Vintage clothing and accessories have always been quite popular among certain fashionista crowds, but it’s definitely been building steam over the past few years. Perhaps it’s what the vintage piece conveys – which is a story behind each novelty product. Military vintage has become of great interest to me as of late, perhaps it’s an awakening reminder of the unrest that is happening around the world, a statement that there is chaos and war amid seemingly peaceful times. In response, its a poignant piece that people can carry around with them throught these trying times.
Check out key accesssory items like this miltary helment back found on Vintage Trends or head over to the corner of Broome and Mercer to Operations NY, which has a host of re-created and vintage military pieces, including a number of cool bags and belts.
Not interested in bags at this time? Try your hand at a vintage watch available at Little Cogs.
