The Eco-Lovely Mrs. Montague Collection
When I arrived at Capsule to meet miss Carrie Parry, I was excited to discover the creative mind behind her collection, Mrs. Montague. Parry introduced herself and her husband whom she met because both worked for Gifford’s Circus. I knew I wanted to know her better – the circus, how cool is that?

I love the color of this first dress because it’s unusual and the bit of red detail makes it pop. Like it’s paired here with boots it’d be cute for an afternoon lunch or walk round town.
Parry’s unique creations aren’t just beautiful; her Mrs. Montague collection, is eminently wearable too. The designer considers both the environment and the women who will wear her collection each season. She makes sure that the lines of her clothes aren’t overwhelmed by the pattern or color of the material, but lets the cut of the work, detail, and bold, but well inspired print take front and center.

The second dress is one inspired via Kusama, matched with a black turtleneck it makes the outfit to wear to work, but add some booties and it is fit for a dinner or event.

How I Wear Eco Fashion: Kristen Nedopak, Hollywood Actress and Geek Host
Kristen Nedopak is a force to be reckoned with. An actress with a serious comedic bent, she’s host of Think Hero TV and a weekly series onScienceFiction.com, a talented illustrator, superenergetic optimist, and a self-described geek. Her life resembles a fantastical movie montage wherein the heroine dons amazing costumes, interviews stars and up-and-comers everywhere from festivals to red carpets, and behind the scenes, works her bum off (with red hair pulled back into a sleek French twist while wearing nerd-cute glasses of course). And did I mention she throws some of the most kickass parties in all of Los Angeles?
Kristen fills us in on how she puts together her always-unique looks:
My job is to give people an experience to remember, whether I’m interviewing a celebrity or expert or sharing my thoughts about a favorite TV show, it’s up to me to inspire viewers to watch—and continue to watch—the show. I like my attire to be super creative, but it can’t be too over the top. I still have to be recognizable on camera and it has to be comfortable enough to wear all day. It comes down to piecing together an outfit with the right period-esque details to strike a perfect balance.
Nuevo Bohemian: John Patrick Organic’s Fall 2011 Show at New York Fashion Week

Report and images by Jane Webb, owner of Grace Heaven Organic Salon.
John Patrick’s Fall 2011 line celebrates a lifetime of expertise in his craft. His obvious love of the past seamlessly meets a nuevo bohemian attitude and creates something utterly unique.
Every fabric is lovingly chosen and the marriage of the unlikeliest fabrics combine to create something sophisticated yet edgy. His knitwear has always been spectacular but he really hits in out of the park this time.
Felted chunky wool sweaters and coats are the centerpiece to gorgeous separates that include cool veggy dyed leather shorts, henna and chestnut dyed silks and demure printed cottons. There is a stand out caped cashmere coat that would be equally at home on the back of Carole Lombard or Lady Gaga.
H&M’s Spring 2011 Conscious Collection: Eco Fashion Breezes into April
H&M is making good on its promise to continue expanding their commitment to using sustainable fabrics. Their upcoming Spring, 2011 collection, Conscious Collection is the follow-up for Spring 2010′s Garden Collection. Utilizing organic cotton, Tencel, and recycled polyester, the all-white collection means that it will work with everything from denim to silks.
“It’s no longer just about organic cotton. The possibilities for creating a complete fashion statement with eco smarter materials are huge now. By designing recurring Conscious Collections we have the opportunity to show in a variety of ways what’s possible using more sustainable fabrics,” says Ann-Sofie Johansson, H&M head of design. “Shades of white are the season’s biggest fashion trend. White creates a romantic feeling with lace and broderie anglaise, but it is also the basic color in a sporty, relaxed style and in a preppy tailored look for men.”

Emma Grady is a multimedia journalist and freelance fashion correspondent (Discovery’s TreeHugger.com and Planet Green, her own style site Past Fashion Future, Coco Eco Magazine, and more) based in New York City. Emma’s days can get busy and she needs pretty versatile layers that can cross from relaxed to more professional, depending on what she’s up to. This outfit exemplifies those shifts: “I write during the day and often go to events at night. I’ve worn this blazer dressed up, with a black mini skirt, black tights, and heels, for fashion week and dressed down for work (as shown) with jeans,” says Emma.
