Eco Chick Giveaway: Goodebox Personalized Healthy Beauty for You!

Comments 42 Comments

by Starre Vartan · 03/02/12

goodebox

If you read Eco-Chick regularly, you know there are a growing number of amazing, clean, eco-friendly beauty brands making products that are not only healthier to slather on, but that actually perform just as well, if not better, then their toxin laden counterparts.

If you’re anything like us, we love trying new products, always searching for that great new eye cream that addresses our latest issue, or the perfect lip color for that special night out but sometimes it’s tough to know what to buy.  What’s actually clean?  Does it really work? Enter Goodebox, a new service providing trial sized, healthy & sustainable beauty and personal care products.

Goodebox allows you to take the goodes for a test drive before forking out for the full size.  For only $16 a month, members get six trial size products, the selection of which is customized according to skin type, hair type, skin tone and other preferences.  The piece that really sets Goodebox apart from other beauty sample services is their commitment to working with only thoroughly evaluated brands committed to using effective, non-toxic ingredients that respect people, animals and planet.

It’s a fun way to try new products that have been tested and approved by people with the experience to know when something performs, like Kristen Arnett, for example, the celebrity green make-up artist who’s curating the first Goodebox.  What’s more, members get a discount on everything included in each month’s Goodebox, making it pretty easy to recover the membership fee  PDQ if you have even a modest addition to beauty & wellness products.

If you want to sign-up, you can just squeak in to receive the March box as long as you join by March 3rd. Interested in trying it for free? We have 10 March Goodeboxes to give away.  Simply like the Goodebox Facebook page (and the Eco Chick page if you haven’t yet!) and drop a comment below letting us know you have done so. We have ten to give away, so that’s great odds! Giveaway is open from noon on Friday, March 2, 2012 until noon on Thursday, March 8th, 2012.

Sensation

Heys has long been known for producing quality suitcases and travel gear. And now their new eco-friendly line, EcoCase (they are made from 100% recycled plastic) proves they are conscious too. (And I think the hard-case style is pretty cool.)

So naturally, we are giving one away to Eco Chick and Eco Chick Escapes readers!

(Heys does make a soft fabric suitcase, also made from recycled polyester fabric, as well.)

Eco Chick Giveaway: Cozy Scarf by Nepali TDM Design

by Haley · 10/25/10

Milli Wavy Square Black Forest Cheeky Pink

The weather has been bitter in the morning this week and a scarf is a perfect add-on to keep warm. Collections of scarves are abundant in boutiques, however a dud scarf can break an otherwise chic outfit. Scarves should tie an outfit together. Bright scarves add a pop of color to a more subdued outfit, whereas a brown or black scarf tones down color. How to choose the right one? The best solution is to have a couple to choose from depending on your ensemble for the day.

Of course an eco-chick must have an adorable eco-conscious scarf, like these from TDM Design.  The Nepali collection is a perfect solution for some eco-chic warmth.

Milli Shelly Cream Black

Nepali began when the cofounder Michele Baldwin began to draw inspiration on her frequent trips to Nepal. She loved the vibrant colors and the natural fibers that the weavers used. Nepali was launched in 2007 and creates cute and sustainable scarves woven in Nepal. TDM Design works directly with women’s cottage industries in Nepal to support both women weavers and women’s craftsmanship.

You might be familiar with this hot hunk from Entourage, however Adrian Grenier has a new agenda: saving the ocean.  Grenier claims his passion for the environment turns the paparazzi and media off (not us!) but no matter what he is determined to make a difference.  He believes his responsibilities on a “human level” are to “give and contribute”.  In fact, in 2008 assisted by a team of green experts, Grenier’s Alter Eco TV show premiered on Planet Green. The show is about better, sustainable, and more ecological methods to transform living space using eco-lovable products.

We see celebrities talking about saving the environment, but Grenier takes it one step further and has made it a passion of his to see what he can do to change the environment.  He believes it is most important to, “….see first hand what is happening”.
