Simplicity at Its Best with Wintertime Nudes
The depths of winter always make me want to pare down and cozy up. We need to wear more layers, but as the bright colors and patterns of the holiday season are washed away, and a New Year is born, we look to cleanse, restructure, and repurpose. Dressing in neutral tones is an easy way to visually achieve the clarity and purpose of beginnings.
More than ever before, I want everything in my closet (and my life) to matter, to be truly useful, to function at its highest purpose. These nude pieces will layer beautifully now, and will pair wonderfully with whatever colors and patterns are coming in 2012. With classic shapes and beautiful, sustainable fabrics, each of these pieces will find years of wear.

Many thanks to Michelle Legro for showing me some serious Photoshop skills (and just generally being awesome).
White Out: This Summer the It Color is One Light Hue!
The biggest trend this summer? White on white on more white! (The thrill of being able to button on my white jeans again!) We love it everywhere. Its never been a better time to exercise less is more. With just a pop of color, like the blue heel of a sky high wedge (below, a vegan version), an outfit goes from perfectly lovely to ultra chic.
No matter where you are this summer, be it a pool party, BBQ, or girls night out, save the black for winter. This season its all about the light and simple. From the cute sparkly jacket (below by socially-conscious Edun), to the slacks, and especially the dangly earrings (made from recycled metals and ethical stones), white is everywhere.

Sustainable Style Makeover: Spring Trend 2010 – Go Nautical!
We all know that stripes are taking center stage this spring, and the best part is that there are so many variations on how to wear them. The Alexander Wang, Donna Karen and Louis Vuitton resort collections showcased all kinds of stripes on shirts, skirts and dresses.
Dress them up with heels or keep is casual with flats and simple accessories. Eco designer Samantha Pleet produced a sweet and chic striped number as part of her Spring 2010 collection- sourced from organic cotton.
