Erin Templeton’s Sleek, Colorful Recycled Leather Bags: Made in Vancouver for Wearing Everywhere

As Spring grows closer, I look forward to storing away winter sweaters for light blouses and denim shorts. The one Spring accessory that is missing from my closet is a new bag.

This week, in hopes of those long, lazy days to come, I was looking at some of my favorite green boutiques online, and I came across Erin Templeton’s leather bags at Kaight.

This cross-body bag is perfect for the weekend as its light, small, and roomy enough to fit your necessities.

Intrigued by the candy colors and ethical bent of the bags, I checked out the designer’s story. Templeton began designing leather accessories in 1999 while “studying shoemaking at Cordwainer’s College in London, England.” In 2002, she moved into her Chinatown, Vancouver studio, where each product is designed by hand and made from either new or recycled leathers.

She’s really into empowering her customers. According to Templeton’s site: “Erin’s life-long fascination with vintage informs designs that defy trends and transcend eras. Minimal hardware and simple, strong construction allow people to adjust, change, and make pieces their own.”

They are gorgeous bags, are they not? And with a lighter footprint too.

This tote is a go to everyday style as its lightweight and has versatile straps. The straps allow you to either toss the tote onto your shoulder or opt for a cross-body style. Simply pull the straps into a single strap.
