Styrofoam Sucks!!
Cause you can make only so many goofy art projects out of old styrofoam….
The kiddie set gets active about protesting the over 4 million styrofoam trays used in NYC schools in this great NYTimes video.
As the footage mentions, McDonald’s stopped using syrofoam 17 years ago…why are the NYC public schools so far behind, especially after Bloomberg’s PlaNYC promises to green New York City by 2030? For those who don’t know, styrofoam is not great for the environment, for a few reasons, including toxicity to people (especially when heated) and the air.
My favorite part of the video is definitely all the little kids chanting “Styrofoam Sucks!” and holding protest signs. Cute and awesome.
