Cute and Smart, Just What I'm Looking for — In a Car

Yay!! Smart Cars are FINALLY coming to the US– after a 3-year delay. Most importantly, they come in a convertible version. And they get 60 miles to the gallon.

They’re tiny– four feet shorter than a Mini Cooper (I fantasize about parking in NYC in one…) and are damn cute. AND they can crash into a huge Mercedes safely, which is just great design. It has something to do with being shaped like an egg, which millions of years of evolution has figured out is a pretty sturdy package.

 Did I say Yay?
