Loup Charmant’s Beachy Summer Dream
I remember when I first saw a few pieces of Loup Charmant at market week years ago; I was immediately drawn to the lightweight, sheer cotton underthings, all plain (in the sense of unadorned; but not boring). “Whoever is designing these pieces,” I thought, “really respects the fabric and wants us to see it and appreciate it.” Most designers want you to look-look-love their design, Kee Edwards (the designer behind the line), wants you to love the fabric, how it feels, how it falls, how it moves, and her designs just facilitate that appreciation. Edwards moved beyond lingerie—though there are still gorgeous pieces that reflect that heritage—and now produces a full line of mellow dresses, floaty tanks and other relaxed/relaxing separates.
Our Heirloom quality cotton began as the core of Loup Charmant and is still the basis of our line. It is lightweight, semi sheer & was chosen because it reminds us of the Antique Victorian pieces we’ve collected over the years. It is beautiful when crisp and ironed, but we like it washed + maybe a little crumpled.
Loup Charmant is Made in New York City from GOTS certified organic cottons, silks, gauzes, linens and wools and is carried at fine retailers like Malia Mills, Barneys New York and through the line’s online shop.

The Handloomed Khadi cloth coverup is the very definition of summer dressing for me. Loose, light, a little sexy, and comfortable enough to wear from beach to barbeque to bed. Khadi cloth is made without electricity, each thread literally handrun by artisans in India. Organic cotton, sewn in New York City.
The Cutaway Vest is perfect for those occasions where it’s too hot to wear a jacket, but you want to introduce a little formality to your shorts and tank top or sundress (as pictured here). Noil silk, made in New York City.
Perfect for layering over a swimsuit top, or under a scarf for summer, the camisole is one of Loup Charmants’ iconic pieces. With a double-lined Empire bodice, you can go sans bra and still feel covered, and it’s universally flattering. Barely-there straps and an easy shape make this top perfect for sleep, the beach, or over jean shorts.
