Natural Shampoo in Refillable, Reusable Bottles: YES!

We go to great lengths to tote and refill our re-usable water bottles everywhere, but why don’t most of us (ahem, me) re-think how we’re using and consuming shampoo, conditioner and body washes? I was pretty alarmed to learn that 80,000 plastic shampoo bottles wind up in the ocean every year and 300 million tons of plastic waste gets dumped into our landfill system.

Plaine Products approached these very issues with a fresh perspective, grit and a deep seeded hunger to find a solution. Plaine Products offers all natural shampoo, conditioner and body wash in returnable, refillable, reusable aluminum bottles. Brilliant!

I’ve been using Plaine Products for two months now and I love the fresh minty scent and how it leaves my hair and body feeling and looking. Here’s how it works:
STEP 1: Order one of their awesome products. It will arrive at your door in a refillable bottle. Replace lid with pump. You can recycle the shipping box and the extra lid.
STEP 2: When you are getting low order a refill bottle. Or subscribe and they’ll send a bottle in a timeframe that works for you. So convenient.
STEP 3: When your current bottle is empty, rinse it out and switch the pump to the refill bottle. Easy.
STEP 4: Put the refill’s lid on your empty bottle and place it in the refill box. If you have more than one bottle, make sure the box is full before sending it back. Stick the enclosed return label over the existing shipping label (make sure it’s completely covered), and set it out for your postal carrier to pick up just like any other letter. Best part: Plaine Products cover the cost of shipping to send it back! Reasonable.

After 10 years working in environmental education and advocacy in the Bahamas, Lindsey McCoy moved back to the US ready to explore new, exciting ways to make an impact on the environment. She and her sister, Alison Delaplaine, founded Plaine Products to transform our consumer culture by offering an all-natural, chemical free (that means no PEG, PG, parabens, sulfates, dyes, synthetic fragrances or petrochemicals) shampoo, conditioner and body wash in innovative, responsible packing. The company even offers travel size products which I love because hotels globally create so much plastic waste by offering single-use mini bottles.
