Sustainable Flowers From Australia, New York, California, & London

image
Australia-based Flowers for Everyone designed this arrangement using seasonal native flowers and foliage. You can even customize your arrangement with their team who will advise on the native flowers available.

Flowers can be sourced just as carefully as slow foods. When looking for blooms to give or send for a special occasion (or buy for yourself which we’re known to do!) look for locally, seasonally and sustainably grown flowers. This will help ensure people, planet and animals were respected with your purchase and ideally avoid chemical fertilizers, toxic pesticides, global transport and underpaid labor.

California Organic Flowers is a 13-year-old family farm that raises dahlias, sweet peas, lilies, snapdragons and dozens of other blooms. The company ships its organic blooms to any location in the continental U.S. “It’s this simple,” its owners write on the farm’s website. “Flowers bring the joy and beauty of nature into your home. If there is a sad story of chemical sprays and exploited workers behind your flowers, the joy of the flowers is diminished.”

Opened in December 2007, Gardenia Organic claims to be the first slow flower florist in New York that’s dedicated to ethical practices—from the growth and trade of the flowers to the packaging and delivery. Gardenia Organic even offers floral design classes in their charming studio in Manhattan’s historical flower district. The floral artists recently created the flowers for Edun’s SS16 runway show and after party.

Flowers for Everyone own ‘bricks and mortar’ florist shops sprinkled throughout Australia (they have several locations in Sydney, including the CBD). This means they have greater overall quality control of their arrangements, from seed to table. Their talented florists have designed a large range of divine flower arrangements and bouquets using the most gorgeous seasonal blooms. The Flowers for Everyone florist team personally execute all phone and online flower arrangements and bouquets, ensuring the freshest product and timely delivery, whether you need flower delivery Brisbane or elsewhere throughout Australia. We also love their living plant gift range that offers a wide selection of the latest in-season plants in one-of-a-kind pots, timber crates and baskets.

London’s Real Flower Company uses flowers from its very own farms and operates as a fair and sustainable business, committed to improving environmental practices and maintaining excellent working conditions throughout its supply chain. The Real Flower Company is known for its rustic and simple elegance, and arrangements are produced in their signature moss green hat boxes, which are charmingly unique.
