Sustainable Shades: Juicy Couture's Choose Green Sunglasses Collection
The Summer is over, but that doesn’t mean we can’t wear our shades (in fact, the angle of the sun is often harsher in winter, depending on your latitude. In NYC it seems I need my shades more in the Winter than any other time!). Sunnies are also always a perfect add-on to an outfit, or just great for keeping your hair out of your face.
Juicy Couture presents their first ever “Choose Green” Collection, which includes three chic styles: Jasmine, Fern, and Peony. These shades are serious (eco) business, and are 55% bio-based, so contribute less to global warming.
The frames are made from plant-derived plastics and temple treatments made from Bamboo. Both materials are more sustainable that their traditional plastic counterparts. The shades are sold with an organic canvas pouch printed in soy ink, with a recycled paper tag.
The “Choose Green” collection shades range from $98-$135, and is available at Nordstrom’s, Saks, and on the Juicy site (they are now offering free shipping!).
