Natural Miracle! REN's Anti-Cellulite Gel (Seriously, It Works!)

I have never been a big believer in anti-cellulite products – cellulite, is after all, simply fat that you can see, and whether it is visible or not depends on genetics. That’s why slim women who work out often have cellulite whereas a heavier woman who doesn’t sometimes won’t. Since women naturally carry some fat on their bodies (healthy amounts are what makes us curvy and feminine – and different from men), it always seemed to me that cellulite was just kind of unavoidable.

Though I’m not the skinniest or most in-shape woman, I’ve never had to think about cellulite too much – just because I happen to have inherited some very thick skin from the middle-eastern part of my family. The bonus is that you can’t really see my cellulite – the downside is that scars take forever to heal. But as I have gotten older, I have started to notice it a bit more (since skin thins as we age, this is one of the natural parts of aging – many of us have cellulite now when we didn’t as younger women).

Enter REN‘s Anti-Cellulite Gel, which I got to try at a blogger’s and editor’s gathering for the European natural skin care brand a month or so ago in NYC. (The product debuts this month, so keep an eye out for it!)

It is amazing! While it can’t get rid of fat, what the gel DOES do (in the most refreshing, cooling way possible), is use natural ingredients like caffeine and pepper rose spice, from the pink pepper seed, to “help encourage the breakdown of fatty deposits, activate circulation and drain toxins and fluid so that cellulite appears reduced.” Other ingredients like horse chestnut and red algae are responsible for the cooling properties.

Not only was it the most refreshing thing to wear under a sundress during the heat wave last week, but it would be absolutely ideal after a long flight, train or car ride, since it does feel like it ‘lifts’ your legs and tightens the skin… in a most enjoyably tingling way! And since my skin was tighter, the cellulite was a bit less noticeable.

Lastly, but awesomely, REN is a superclean brand. Check out their commitment.
