Karvt's Beautiful Wood MacBook Air, iPad and iPhone Covers: LOVE!!

karvt

My last laptop was covered—festooned, plastered, personalized—with stickers. Stickers on top of stickers, for bands, great coffeehouses, Fair Trade USA, environmental organizations, and Elephant Journal. That computer took me through graduate school and more than half of the time this website has been publishing. But it’s time was, finally, up.

So when I got my new Macbook, I was excited. So much faster, so much lighter! But I hated how plain it was, and also that it was like a big advertisement for Apple every time I used it. (I appreciate Apple’s products, but I find their logoing everything to death a bit tacky.) I wanted something that was simple, yet different.

Enter Karvt. The California-based company produces real wood laptop, iPad and iPhone covers. They look just exactly as good as they do in the pictures (I got che cedar).

Inspired by the Do-It-Yourself attitude of the indie rock, punk, and gig-poster subcultures, Kurts’ interest in computer science, design, and art came together in 2007, when he began a laser engraving company.

Combining 100% real wood, a passion for artistic craftsmanship, and design, KARVT brings you long-lasting, quality skins that offers protection for your gadgets, providing a one-of-a-kind character to every product.
