REFUSE Single Use Plastics with Susan Rockefeller's Stainless Steel Straws
REFUSE Stainless Steel Straws, available at SusanRockefeller.com
After shooting our debut Heroines for the Planet video with Susan Rockefeller in her New York City home, we hung around for a bit and chitchatted with the filmmaker, ocean conservationist and jewelry designer. Before we said our goodbyes, Susan gave us each a few of her REFUSE Stainless Steel Straws, and I have used them every day since then.
These straws are a brilliant way to refuse single use plastics and small and light enough to carry around throughout the day in your bag. Wherever I go, be it a restaurant, cafe, office, you name it, I break out my Susan Rockefeller REFUSE Stainless Steel Straw.
If you like to use straws, think about how much plastic is wasted when you briefly use a straw and then throw it away. Give some thought as to how many plastic straws you use in one week, then multiply that by 52.
Now you can have your straw, and sip it too. Without all the waste.
I keep the straws in a reused glass jar on my kitchen counter.
REFUSE Stainless Steel Straws are made from polished, high-grade stainless steel engraved with Susan’s motto “Protect What is Precious.” It is by far the most beautiful straw I’ve ever sipped from! The straws are even dishwashers safe. (Susan recommended using a pipe cleaner to thoroughly clean the inside of the straw, but I’ve yet to have to do that.)
