The Skin-Loving Benefits of Rosehip Oil from Trilogy

image

Certified organic rosehip oil serves as the New Zealand-based skincare company, Trilogy’s muse and main ingredient. Trilogy was launched in 2002 by Catherine de Groot and Sarah Gibbs who discovered the delicious, skin-loving properties of the golden oil extracted from rosehip seeds.

I’ve used the products daily for two weeks now and ($24 USD). I use 2 drops of the oil on my face morning and night, and massage a drop onto stretch marks in the morning. (Yes, I have stretch marks ladies!)

Wondering where the heck rosehip oil comes from?

Rosehip is the fruit of the rose plant, pictured here.

It’s derived from the seeds of the wild rose plant (pictured above)—similar to those you might see next to the seashore anywhere from Cape Cod to Florida to the California coast.

Rosehip oil is considered a “dry” oil, meaning that it soaks into the skin easily, and doesn’t tend to leave a residue. Because it’s high in essential fatty acids, it plumps and conditions skin.

Until this year, Trilogy products were only available in the UK, Australia and New Zealand. The co-founders opted for slow, steady and sustainable expansion, investing in R&D, product innovation and the right team to ensure the highest performing, highest quality products. In 2007, Trilogy became the first New Zealand skincare brand to achieve carbon neutral certification for its corporate operations.

I attended the US launch event in NYC to experience the powers of rosehip oil firsthand. Corinne Morley, Trilogy’s Global Sales and Marketing Manager (above) , took me through the line of products. We discussed the ingredients the company uses, sourcing, and its natural and organic certifications.
