7 Things That Prove Autumn is the BEST Season
It’s Autumn! Hooray, hooray! I know the end of summer can be tough, but we’ve got to let go of vacation and embrace the many things we LOVE about fall. Here are a few of my favorite things.
1. Beautiful, Color-changing Leaves

The first thing that comes to mind when ANYONE thinks about fall. I go to college in upstate New York, so the foliage game around here is on point. Those colors can make you feel like you’re living in a painting.
2. Stepping on crunchy leaves

Of course, it’s when the colors begin to fade that the REAL fun begins. Once those guys dry up, they turn into sidewalk decoration that’s REAL fun to step on. If I get a little obsessive with my crunchy leaves–if I step on one with my left foot, I NEED to find an equally crispy one to step on with my right.
3. Fall Fashion: Beanies, Sweaters, and Scarves
Sundresses are great, but they can get boring after a while–and in the heat of the summer, that’s pretty much all I feel like wearing. Enter fall, which allows us to layer up and accessorize in all sorts of adorable ways. Just a few examples–this sweater-dress from People Tree, and this hat and scarf from Ash & Rose.
4. Halloween
Quite possibly the best holiday of all time, on Halloween you get to dress up and eat candy! Ok, I don’t need to tell you how great Halloween is. But I can suggest that for a “grown-up” Halloween, you try making some candy at home with your favorite natural ingredients—like these peanut butter cups from Fifteen Spatulas!
5. Apple Picking

Is there anything that says “fall fun” more than apple picking? Not only is it a fun thing to do with your friends, but at the end of it, you get APPLES. Which leads me to….
6. Apple Cider
My local grocery store was offering free cider samples yesterday. I took one sip and BAM, I felt like I was smack-dab in the middle of fall. You can also step up your cider game by making it boozy with awesome recipes like this one..
7. Going Hiking

There’s no better way to go see that foliage than getting up on a mountain. September and October are perfect for exploring nature with your friends and family, or doing some soul-searching on your own.
Enjoy the fall, friends—the weather’s just fine!
