New York Fashion Week Greenshows: Samantha Pleet F/W 2010

This Renaissance-inspired dress was my favorite of Samantha’s new collection. Would be perfectly accessorized with flower garland headpiece.

I was so in love with Samantha Pleet’s collection last year so I was very much looking forward to her show yesterday and was not disappointed!

Samantha’s Fall/Winter 2010 collection
was filled with romance, drama, and totally wearable togs. The music for the show (mellow, dramatic and soulful) was influenced by films the designer loves and indeed, when I caught up with Samantha after her show she told me, “I love cinema, and I’m in love with my husband, Patrick, so the line is influenced by that.”

I’ve been coveting Little Black Dresses this year and this one is another contender for the spot in my closet dedicated to those super-versatile pieces. The accessories for the show included feather headpieces and belts like this one shown here, which add a bit of lightness to these softly gothic pieces.
