Eco Chick Editor-in-Chief Starre Vartan Speaks at TedXYouth: The Breakthroughs Behind the Site

I got the chance to speak at a TEDx event a few months back and wanted to share this video of how this site came to be. It’s been almost seven years since I founded Eco Chick, and the media landscape for green news and information has changed significantly. But we are still spreading the good work about how to be green and gorgeous! Thanks so much for reading.

Starre Vartan is the founder and editor-in-chief of Eco Chick and its sister site, EcoChick Escapes, all about ethical travel and style. She’s the author of The Eco-Chick Guide to Life (St. Martin’s Press), a pro blogger and oft-quoted green living expert who has been featured in the New York Times, Elle, Glamour and Self magazines.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
