Hydration Station: 6 All-Natural Moisturizers Fight Acne and Fall Dryness

Untitled design (1)

I never believed that moisturizers could make a difference for my skin (Although I’ve heard the Obagi reviews are pretty good). Then I entered the worst acne period of my life.  I realized that if I was going to have nice-looking skin again some day, I had to stop using spot treatments on pimples and actually take care of my skin on a regular basis.

That’s when moisturizer came into play. And there are so many wonderful all-natural moisturizers out there! With all these choices, skincare has turned into something fun, rather than an annoyance.

Trilogy: Rosehip Oil Vital Moisturising Cream

trilogy moisturizer

This moisturizer from Trilogy contains rosehip oil, which we’ve already talked about loving here.  But when Trilogy sent me this product, I couldn’t believe how much I loved it!  It smells wonderful, is non-greasy, and gets the hydration job done.

Airelle Intense Hydrating Repair Complex

airelle

Airelle has a very cool story–the company is a husband and wife collaboration that combined her skincare expertise and his knowledge of what celebrities were looking for.

“This unexpected collaboration began when Stephen D’Amato, First Assistant Director on some of primetime TV’s hottest shows, sought the expertise of his wife, Kasey Drapeau D’Amato, an aesthetic dermatology PA with more than 10 years of experience.”

I’m not usually interested in anti-aging products at my ripe old age of 21, but I’m a fan of this moisturizer.  It’s very lightweight and practically odorless.  I’ve also been rubbing it on a scar from a recent bike accident, and it really seems to be lightening it.

Bee Friendly Face And Eye Cream

bee friendly face and eye cream

The flagship product of this green and sustainable company, this face and eye cream has a nice, short ingredient list—honey, essential oils, EVOO, purified water, and pollen. We’re big honey fans at Eco-Chick, but we’re also big fans of keeping the bees alive.  That’s why we’re big fans of this company—they get their bee products exclusively from a sustainable, holistic farm in Hawaii. I wouldn’t tell these guys to buzz off!  (Sorry not sorry for the pun.)

TEVA Calendula Hydrating Toner

teva

This hydrating toner is made with botanical extracts and doesn’t use any alcohol, which can actually dry out your skin.  Teva was named  “Best Natural Brand in the Market” by Organic Spa Magazine, so we know they’re a trusted brand.

100 Percent Pure Argan Oil Moisturizer

It’s much better for your skin to have on sun protection every day, but it can be easy to forget when you have an elaborate skincare routine.  That’s why it’s so nice when your moisturizer is also a sunscreen!  This one has SPF 30, so you know you’ll be safe.  Plus, every ingredient on this list can be found in nature.

SheaMoisture Raw Shea Butter Infused with Frankincense & Myrrh

Here’s one you’ve probably heard of before.  Shea butter is an age-old remedy, and works on even the driest skin.  All that’s in this one shea butter, essential oils, vitamin E, and frankincense and myrrh—it’ll smell great without anything artificial mucking up the works.

Now that it’s getting colder, I know I’ll be prepared for the dry skin that normally comes with winter.  Don’t forget to hydrate!
