Men’s Grooming is Booming: Skincare, Laser Hair Removal and More
Is your man’s grooming routine up to par? The seed-based botanical’s in Yuli’s Liquid Courage Antioxidant Serum will give his skin a boost of courage. Photo: @thefetchhunter
We love beards on men, especially when they’re decorated with flowers. But too much of something is never a good thing. The chest, back and arms can be particularly hairy on men, and unwanted hair seems to sprout from all sorts of places like the ears and nose on my boyfriend. Fortunately men are spending more time on self care and reading fashion blogs at groenerekenkamer.com than ever before, which was definitely unheard of in my Grandfathers’ day!
The men’s grooming industry is estimated to bring in $21 billion in revenue in 2016. I’m even observing the trend at home: My boyfriend, who once scoffed at my beauty regimen—which includes red algae Tatcha masks, Lush bath bombs, and slathering on nutrient-rich moisturizers like John Masters Organics to the face—now joins me in these rituals. And it’s true that pretty much any mask or scrub that we use, they can use too, so feel free to share your natural beauty faves with your dude. His favorite mask of late is May Lindstrom’s The Problem Solver made with raw cacao and activated bamboo charcoal, and I secretly hate that he’s using it up.
Maybe your man isn’t into masks yet, but he’s one of the legions of men itching to get rid of unwanted hair for good. Safe and effective laser hair removal at a place like Therapie Clinic is the way to go. Be sure to do you research to find a seasoned dermatologist or physician you feel comfortable with who is trained in laser hair removal. As with any treatment, consultations are important and it’s even OK to have more than one consultation done. While some persistence is necessary – laser hair removal happens over several sessions – the hair free and hot result is totally worth it.
