How much better would you sleep if you knew your pajamas were supporting a woman in need?

Proceeds fromPour Les Femmes sleepwear—co-founded by House of Cards’ Robin Wright and designer Karen Fowler—benefit women in The Democratic Republic of Congo who have been victims of violence.

Comfort and security is a fundamental right of every human being. Pour Les Femmes supports charitable organizations that directly help women in conflict regions around the world. The company’s goal is to unite a community of supporters around Pour Les Femmes and bring awareness to this issue.

The number of victims is staggering. A series of interviews in 2012 showed that 34% of men in Congo admit to having raped women, 61.4% of men thought that women sometimes to deserved to be beaten, and that at least half a million women had been raped in Congo between 1998 and 2012—so there’s plenty of help needed by the women in the area, as well as, clearly, education for the men.

The Pour Les Femme founders, longtime friends already, connected further over their desire to provide comfort and aid to women in need. Wright and Fowler combined design talent, business know-how, and a desire to good, and the result is a line of sleepwear that’s pretty is as pretty does.

Of course, it doesn’t hurt that the pajamas themselves are completely lovely, made with supersoft cotton and incorporating so many pretty details.

These sweet and simple PJs will definitely keep you cool in the summer.

nightshirt

While this nightshirt is like snuggling up in your boyfriend’s clothes—without that whole pesky man part (haha!).

nightgown

My personal favorite, this nightgown is vintage-inspired and really feels like something out of a period drama.  Light, airy, and gorgeous!

I think I definitely see some Pour Les Femmes sleepwear in my future.  Why not? Great, comfy pieces AND a great cause.

Many thanks to Diana Stobo for the head’s up about this great company!
