A Fresh Eco Fashion Shoot with Three Worldchanging Women

Liminal times, which are those that fall between definitions, are an opportunity to engage in playfulness. Three friends joined in Manhattan’s Union Square Park for an afternoon of relaxation and fun as autumn begins.

From Left to Right: Pamela Peeters, environmental economist and a sustainability consultant, Meiling Chen, eco designer, and Haley Sherif, student and blogger.

Pamela is wearing a Suzanne Rae skirt, a silk tie-neck blouse by Covet, and her own jewelry. Meiling is wearing a modal Covet dress, and one of her own designs, a hand-embroidered mobius scarf. Haley is wearing a Covet dress and organic cotton sweater.

Haley, whose blog, The Fashion Dish, details her sartorial adventures, studies up as school begins in a Covet dress and sweater; vintage Chanel necklace is her own. The junior writer for Eco Chick also contributes to the Huffington Post and loves to Soulcycle.

Eco designer Meiling Chen contemplates the soon-to-fall leaves above in sexy-comfy modal dress by Covet and a self-created necklace/scarf. Or perhaps she’s thinking about her next creative project; Meiling’s also a fiber artist who participates in exhibitions at the Textile Arts Center and others, and makes her home in New York City.

Pamela is no doubt thinking about the Sustainable Planet Film Festival, which she has put together for six years now as she lounges in a Suzanne Rae skirt and Covet blouse (shoes, her own).

pamelatree

Or perhaps her next film project? This multi-talented producer, television host and author of Urban Ecology brings a European style to all that she touches.

ambikalegwarmers

Pamela wears these hand-made angora legwarmers by Ambika to keep the gentle autumn chill from still-summer tan legs. Ambika Conroy, the designer, raises the angora bunnies herself, and shaves them down seasonally in order to collect the fur and creates vests, hats, and other pieces from the strong yarn.

Haley says, “Autumn is here! Let’s celebrate with sunnies and smile.”

Meiling ponders the imponderable? Or perhaps what her next textile arts composition will be made from.
