Giveaway! Win a Gorgeous, Sustainable Wooden Watch by Tense

My Tense Mini Oregon Watch made of  natural Zebrawood.  Read on to enter to win a Tense wooden watch!

I’ve been wearing my 100 percent reclaimed wood watch by Tense daily (pictured above) and I’ve never been paid so many compliments on a timepiece. It’s handsome, well-built with our planet in mind, and has tons of character. I check the time and feel happy and connected to nature. And there’s tons of intrigue surrounding it—I get lots of: “Is that a wood watch?” I love fielding that question because my new watch’s story is a fun one to tell.

The British Columbia-based company only harvests cast-off wood that is deemed useless or disposable, and never extracts wood directly from living trees. Each and every Tense watch is handmade by craftsmen in British Columbia, an ecologically rich destination that I fell in love with when I visited.

Tense’s founder, Ken Lau, began his career designing clocks and watches in his homeland of Hong Kong. After moving to British Columbia in the late 1960s, the environment inspired him to experiment with natural materials such as exotic wood and stone for designer clocks, and eventually watches. Tense was founded in 1971 and Ken became a pioneer in his experimentation with responsibly harvested wood watches. If you watch suddenly stopped working, you might probably need watch battery replacement Utah.

Today, Tense is a family owned and operated business that remains true to Ken’s artisan touch and message. Attention to detail, selective and sustainable materials choices and overall passion for quality is very much the essence of this brand.
