What Is It to Be #HUMAN? Jane Goodall’s Answer Touched Us

What makes us human? It’s a simple question, yet the answer is as varied as the 7 billion people who inhabit this planet. For some people, the answer lies in figures and statistics. For French photographer Yann Arthus-Bertrand, the answer lies within the depths of the human heart.

Renown for his United Nations-supported ecological project Earth From Above, Arthus-Bertrand is no stranger to portraying our Earth at its most sublime.

In a new project, he offers a different kind of immersive experience on what it means to exist on this planet by bringing us face-to-face with other people in his film, HUMAN. Through these people’s narratives, we are able to share in a unique kind of sincerity that highlights both the good and the bad.

In short, the universal experience of being human. Watch one of our favorite HUMAN interviews from the legendary Jane Goodall below.
